THE NEW TRUST EAP, RESOURCES FOR LIVING PROVIDED THROUGH AETNA, BEGINS JANUARY 1, 2024 Beginning January 1, 2024, the Trust’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will be provided through Aetna Resources for Living.
The EAP’s services will remain the same. When you or your enrolled dependents need help managing personal, family, and work issues, the EAP allows up to six free counseling sessions per year plus referrals to community information and other services including child/elder care assistance, legal services, assistance with workplace issues and more.

AVAILABLE NOW: BRIGHTLINE FAMILY MENTAL HEALTH BENEFIT The Trust is pleased to introduce Brightline, a new family mental health benefit provided through Aetna. With Brightline, you’ll have access to mental health experts who can help find virtual therapy, psychiatry, and coaching for your covered dependents from 18 months up to 18 years old. Brightline’s experts can help with issues including trouble sleeping, cyberbullying, body image, ADHD, depression, anxiety—whatever your kids are facing. And they provide support for you too, as a parent or caregiver.
With Brightline, you’ll get:
- Fast access to personalized support (no long waitlists!)
- Video visits with therapists and coaches
- One-stop digital platform to manage care
- Resources and support for parents and caregivers
There’s no cost to you, it’s 100% confidential, and you can access it online from anywhere. Here’s how to get started:
- Go to HelloBrightline.com/aetna and click on “Aetna members start here”.
- Complete the registration, Brightline will confirm your eligibility and you’ll be ready to get started.
- Then choose a behavioral health provider and get started within a few days.
DENTAL PLAN IMPROVEMENTS Beginning July 1, 2023, the Trust’s Dental Plan benefits are provided through and administered by Delta Dental of Alaska (DDAK).
You can receive services from any dentist, but your out-of-pocket expenses may be lower if you choose a dentist who belongs to the Delta Dental PPO Network or Delta Dental Premier Network.
- Claims for dental treatment through June 30, 2023 should be submitted to the Trust Administrative Office.
- Claims for dental treatment on or after July 1, 2023 are administered by DDAK.
- Please show your dental provider your new DDAK ID card for any dental treatment received after July 1st, 2023.
Also beginning July 1, 2023, the Dental Plan now covers orthodontic treatment for adults and covered children at 50% up to a $1,500 lifetime maximum per enrolled person (does not apply to the annual Dental Plan maximum).
COMPARE COSTS WITH THE AETNA ONLINE COST ESTIMATOR TOOL Aetna’s online Cost Estimator is an easy-to-use online tool which provides average in-network and out-of-network costs, provided by Aetna providers, for services such as:
- Tests (X-rays and MRIs)
- Primary care and specialist care office visits
- Select surgeries and procedures (such as colonoscopy or sinus surgery)
- Routine physicals
- Emergency room visits
- Yearly costs associated with chronic conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or high blood pressure)
Access this self-service tool at aetna.com/docfind. Create an account (if you haven’t already done so) and log in. The Cost Estimator will display your personalized out-of-pocket cost information (deductible and coinsurance) including negotiated rates and allowed amounts for all health care items and services covered by the Plan. Currently, the Cost Estimator provides estimates for 500 services. Beginning January 1, 2024, you’ll find estimates for all covered services.
